1. The Golden Rule
Make sure you always and I mean always remove your makeup before going to bed. The skin needs to breathe overnight and makeup prevents that. Leaving it on overnight clogs the pores which may cause blemishes and/or blackheads. Best makeup remover is Coconut Oil, just put some oil on a cotton pad and gently massage the oil onto your face to get rid of the makeup and dirt.
2. Exfoliate your skin
Exfoliate your skin at least once or twice a week to remove the layers of dead skin and to get a more healthy glow and brighter skin.
3. Moisturize your face
Moisturize your face no matter what your skin type is. Even if your skin is oily moisturize. If you don’t your skin will produce more oils to compensate the lack of moisture on the skin which in turn makes your skin more oily.
4. Hydrate yourself
Drink lots of water daily, at least 8 glasses. Also, eats fruits and vegetables that have a high water content.
5. Wipe Down Your Phone Screen
Yes wipe your phone screen atleast once a day with a tissue paper or a cotton pad. There is lot of dirt and bacteria build-up on phone screen which can easily get into your skin leading to breakouts and acne.
6. Stop Touching Your Face
Many of us tend to rest our cheek in our palm when we’re bored or tired. It’s time to break that habit. Just think about all of the germs your hands came in contact with, which will transfer to your skin and causing acne.
7. Wash Your Face
Wash your face twice a day with a gentle face wash. Try buying products that are natural and chemical free. Always moisturize your skin after washing your face.
8. Use Face Masks
Use face masks which fits your skin type regularly to keep your skin clean and fresh.
9. Don’t Pop Pimples
Don’t pop pimples because it can lead to more swelling, redness, and even scarring. Just clean the area with rose water and apply aloe vera gel or honey and leave it overnight. Within two days the pimple will be gone without any scar !
10. Wear SPF every single day
Whether it’s sunny, cloudy or cold outside, wear SPF every single day. It provides protection to your skin as exposure to sun can cause a severe skin damage.
11. Apply your products in the correct order
Apply your products in the correct order: face wash > toner > serum > night cream > oil.
12. Get Enough Sleep
Your skin gets tired just like you. It sags and you get dark circles and under-eye bags. So don’t risk it.
13. Avoid STRESS
Try to avoid stress as much as possible. When you are stressed, you tend to break out more. This is because stress causes your body to produce cortisol and other hormones, making the skin more oily. Do breathing exercises, yoga and meditation.
